Yvonne Kay Baughman, daughter of Dorothy and James Young was born on December 21, 1940 in Houston, Texas. Yvonne passed away on January 5, 2024 in League City, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph E. Baughman and her parents Dorothy and James Young. Her brother Robert Kendrick Young passed away on January 14, 2024. She is survived by her son Ronald Baughman of Kemah.  Her daughter, Leigh Ann and her husband, Tim Hendricks of Austin. Her grandsons Evan, and his wife Jessica, of League CIty and Erik and his fiancé Camrynne Hoover of Pearland.

Yvonne graduated from San Jacinto High School, Class of 1959. During her high school years and after marriage and children she helped work at her mother’s woman owned printing business in Houston. She was the quintessential mother and wife and relished having family dinners together. Raising her children was her most fulfilling accomplishment.  She was PTA president at their elementary school, worked as the principals’ secretary at Pearland High School until her children graduated.  Then she worked at Universal Weather and Avaition, Inc. an aviation consultant company .

Yvonne loved being a Grandmother to Evan and Erik, enjoying many sleep overs.

Her many family dogs, Tuffy, Kimo and Cobi, brought her much joy. She loved to travel, and they traveled with the Shell retirement group on river boat cruises, Europe and Kenya.

A celebration of Yvonne’s life will be held on January 21, 2024 at 2:00 pm. Visitation with the family will be at 1:00 pm prior to the Celebration of Life.  Both will be held at Crowder Funeral Home, 1645 E. Main Street, League City, Texas.
