Oh, my dear Aunt Winnie. My favorite! What an incredible legacy you leave behind. You married a courageous American GI. You raised three brilliant and beautiful daughters, grands and greats. You honored your mother country, yet cared for your adopted homeland as if it were your own. You always retained that witty sense of humor and charm, that I adored and have tried to emulate in my own life.
If I may quote from Proverbs 31, as I’m reminded of Aunt Winnie’s life and legacy. “A wife of noble character who can find. She is worth far more than rubies. She provides food for her family. She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy. She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. Her children arise and call her blessed. Honor her for all that her hands have done.” Selah
