Wilma Vera

On Friday, March 13, 2020, Wilma Vera, Loving daughter and beloved mother of three entered heavens gates, at the age of 65.

Wilma was born on October 08, 1954, in Harlingen, Texas. She lived a full and happy life in Pearland, TX.

Wilma is preceded in death by her father, Ovidio Gracia.

Wilma was the definition of a strong woman. She dedicated her life to her family and loved them as nobody could. She raised three beautiful children as a single mother and gave them the world. Although strict she showed so endless love and support to them. She was loved so much by all, especially as she would call them even as adults her baby’s.

She enjoyed coming home from her job at NASA, which she loved and enjoyed working at, to watch her favorite TV shows with her granddaughter. She loved going out on the weekends with her mom, who was a big part of her life, they would go shopping or have their nails done. She enjoyed trying new restaurants and new food as long as she had her Tabasco hot sauce. Wilma enjoyed traveling with her kids and grandkids making beautiful memories. She attended Life Church in Houston and had a strong faith and she was very blessed. Although she will be greatly missed by everyone, she would want us to know she’s resting easy with our Heavenly Father and with her dad.  She would always say even when she’s gone, she will still be watching over her kids, her Legacy and to make her proud. We have peace knowing she lived a life full of happiness and blessings surrounded by her family. Gone too soon, but God needed a beautiful soul.

She leaves behind her daughters: Erica and Anna Vera; son, Robert Vera, his wife Lisa; grandchildren: Anyssa Vera,  Destiny, and Isaiah Guzman, Brianna, Gabriel, Isaac and Jacob Salazar; great-grandchildren: Daniel and Mia Salazar; mother, Elida Gracia; sisters: Noemi Kato, husband Tomas, Elizabeth Gracia, Rosalinda Valle, and Ruth Trevino; brothers: Oscar Gracia, wife Linda, Lee Gracia, Ovidio Gracia, Jr., and Robert Dean Gracia, wife Sandra; numerous nieces nephews and friends.

A visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a service to begin at 6 p.m. in the chapel of Crowder Funeral Home in Pearland, TX. Private family burial to follow at Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster, TX.

Pallbearers will be, Robert Vera, Anyssa Vera, Oscar Gracia, Isaac Salazar, Richard Resendez, and Tomas Kato.

  3. Wilma, my dear friend. You were loved by many and will be sorely missed by many. You and I often spoke about religion and Heaven and what happens when we leave this world. Well i have no doubt that our Father is embracing you on one hand while your dad is embracing you in the other and you have that sweet smile you always had on you. Your family was very blessed to have had you as their mother and I was blessed to know you as my friend. I love you my friend. Until we meet again!

P.S. Just think, unlimited Tabasco (lunch memories)
