William Wade Sandel
William Wade Sandel, of Fredericksburg, passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2024 in Seabrook, Texas at the age of 90.
He was born on November 17, 1933 in Hunstville, Texas to Edgar and Hortense “Jane” Sandel.
Wade is originally from Dallas, TX, where he spent 31 years with Philips Petroleum before retiring and moving to the hill country. It is In Fredericksburg that he enjoyed growing peaches and pecans and had lavish gardens at each home he built. He constructed the same floor plan 4 times, until he landed the property of his dreams where he built it again for the final time on a hill with breath taking views. He frequented Luckenbach where he played daily games of dominoes, strummed his guitar and sang with his buddies. He was a VIS (Very Important Somebody), number 002 member of the Luckenbach town council. He would frequently remind us that Tom Bell was number 1.
Wade was especially proud of each of his three children. He would brag on each one to the other and anyone he would meet. He was a loving, no BS dad, and doting Pepaugh to his grandkids. He loved reading the labels on his shared bottles of wine, but remained faithful to his box of Franzia. He used Darlin’ as a term of endearment, had a brilliant mind, a black or white way of seeing things, and was a stock market genius. He traded stocks up until three weeks prior to his passing. He handled business and remained in control until his last days with his family. He remained dignified, full of class and grateful until the end. He was surrounded by a few loved ones and his faithful grand dog, Tom, with Willie on the radio and Fox News on the tv, as he left to be with our Lord and Savior. His kind blue eyes will surely be missed.
He was preceded in death by his son Lawrence Wade Sandel, sister Rose Coker, and his mother Hortense Jane Sandel and father Edgar Sandel.
He is survived by his daughter Jodie Marie Sandel and grandchildren Lorne Valls, Nathan Valls, son-Joel Wood Sandel, and son Jeffrey Cole Sandel and wife Jennifer Erin Sandel, grandchildren Christina Henry and husband Tyler, Braden Felcman, Ashlyn Sandel, Rhyan Sandel, Carter Felcman, Hudson Felcman, and great grandchildren Harper Henry and Hayes Henry.
A service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at Fredericksburg Church of Christ, 507 Llano St, Fredericksburg TX 78624.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to his home church of Fredericksburg Church of Christ, 507 N Llano St., Fredericksburg, TX 78624.

Wade was always one of our great, fun friends! A “Very Important Somebody” at Luckenbach. He loved to dance and twirled the ladies around the old Luckenbach Dance Hall floor.
Wade loved music and he loved to dance. He was a great dancer and enjoyed dancing with many women in his lifetime. He was a joy to watch as he danced. May he rest in Cowboy Heaven so he can continue to listen to his favorite
Wade,
To our South Star dancing partner, may he rest in Peace. He was a very nice, respectful friend. Keep on dancing in heaven, until we meet again my friend.

Wade, our South Star dancing partner, a great friend & gentleman. MAY YOU REST IN PEACE my friend. You will be greatly missed. Keep on dancing until we meet again!
Wade and I were very good friends for many years. He was my very favorite dance partner at South Star, Inn of The Hills plus many other dance halls. I believe we both lived to dance. Everyone at Luckenbach loved him. He was certainly a true friend to everyone, and will so truly be missed. My deepest sympathy to all of his family. Rest in peace, my dear friend. You were loved and respected by many !!!!!!
I loved that the houses Wade build were mentioned in his obit because we bought one of his houses when we moved to Fredericksburg–I believe it was house number 4. It was a very well-built, solid house. I believe that speaks to the character of Wade Sandel.
Oh this is so neat to hear. And you are absolutely correct, he matched the houses he built. Well built, practical, lovingly crafted, well
Planned and simple. Blessings to your family. Thank you for you heartfelt condolences
Wade, will be miss by everyone in Fredericksburg and Luckenbach. He was so sweet and a very interesting man. Love his Hummel Figurines and his homes. He was not a lazy man. Always busy. He will be miss. Sympathy to his family.
I dreamt of Wade again this morning only this this time it woke me with a deep pain in my heart and a dred in my mind that wouldn’t leave. Now I know why. As i told Wade so many times, I will Love him till my last breath I do take. Rest In Peace My Love.
Praying for family as always
This is heartbreaking to find out. Wade and I became dance partners when I was a mere 12 years old at South Star. My love for spinning around the floor came from him. To this day some 30 years later I still compare how people dance with me to the way he and I danced. Everytime I went back home to visit we would sit for hours to talk. I pray in is up in heaven tearing up the dance floor. You will always be in our hearts!
