It was an honor to call this man a friend and mentor for the past 26 years. I went to work for Keith in 1988 and never would have imagined even after leaving his employ 10 years later that we would maintain a friendship after all of these years. After learning of a career path that he thought I had more “snap” for, he offered to teach me the business of buying and selling airplanes. It is something that I have never regretted. He was always there for me when I needed someone to talk to, lending his advice when needed and of course as Keith was, lending his advice when I didn’t! There was not a major decision in my years of knowing him that I didn’t talk to him about. I will miss him dearly, there aren’t many people in the world like he was. To the family, you are in my thoughts and prayers.
It is impossible for me to express how much I will miss Keith in my life. For the past 24 years there have been very few days that Keith and I did not talk to each other by phone. Amazingly, we never actually met face to face until 5 years ago. Yet, in spite of this, Keith probably knew more about my life, my business and what I was thinking than my own family. When we finally met for the first time for dinner at Capitol Grill in Houston (Keith’s choice of course), we hugged each other as if we had known each other our entire lives. We had many more dinners in Houston since that time, the most recent just 2 months ago. I will surely miss those dinners but mostly I will miss talking with Keith. There is little I can add about Keith that people who really knew him don’t already know. He was a true friend who was always there for me and I will never forget that.
I am heartbroken. I just came across this obituary and am speechless. I will miss Keith very much. RIP in sweety.
I met Keith many years ago with Hugh Kelley…I lost Hugh too early Oct 10,2012…. two good men too early
I am heartbroken to have found this out, on his birthday. Speechless is putting it mildly. RIP sweet Keith.
