William “Bill” Homer Dillon, Jr.
William “Bill” Homer Dillon, Jr., of Houston, Texas, passed away on Friday, October 7, 2016 in League City, Texas at the age of 83. He was born on November 11, 1932 in West Helena, Arkansas to William Homer Dillon, Sr. and Vertice (Wilson) Dillon. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William and Vertice Dillon, and sister, Elizabeth “Liz” Tubbleville. He is survived by his daughter, Sheree Gwin and husband, Ronnie, and by his son, Jack Dillon, and wife Michelle. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Rachel Camp and husband, Warren, Garrett Gwin, David Gwin, Ryan Dillon and wife, Lacey, Austin Dillon and wife, Chrissy, Kristin Fellencer and husband, Paul. He is blessed to have been the great-grandfather of Hudson, Adeline, Kacyn, Gage, and soon-to-be-born baby boy of Kristin and Paul. Bill is also survived by his former wife and friend, Shirley Bright Dillon.
Bill was a Christ follower from a very early age and a long time member and deacon at Baptist Temple Church in Houston, Texas. Bill attended Texas A&M University and was a proud member of the Corps of Cadets until he entered the military, serving in the U. S. ARMY. While stationed in Germany, Bill also represented the U. S. ARMY, winning two World Championships in basketball and volleyball. After his return, Bill worked hard to receive his bachelor’s and, later, his master’s degrees from the University of Houston. Bill’s career with Phillips Petroleum Corporation and Ada Oil Company spanned over two decades.
Bill spent the last years of his life living at Harbourview Care Center where he was loved for his outgoing manner, great smile, encouraging words, always having chocolates for anyone who should visit his room, and his constant “I love you” for all. Bill and his family have been blessed by the hard working, loving caregivers at Harbourview Care Center.
A Grave Side Ceremony will be held on Friday, November 4, 2016 at 12:30pm at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038.

I am so sorry for your loss. He has now joined our Heavenly Father which will comfort you all during this time. Though I never met him, he had to be a great man because it shows in his family I have met. God bless you all and you will be in my prayers
Sheree and Jack , you and your families are in our hearts and prayers. Your dad was a sweet man. We had a lot of fun times at Baptist Temple playing volley ball in the gym. He will surely be missed by many.

sorry 4 your loss-served in army with bill & played basketball with him & toured in europe with him & have pictures of us-tried to get hold of about 10 yrs ago with no luck- i miss him roger blowers
