William Baines Ludlow, Jr.
William Baines Ludlow, Jr, of League City, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2024 in Webster, TX at the age of 66. He was born on June 21, 1958 in Texas City, to William Baines Ludlow, Sr, and Claire Edna Van Benthuysen Ludlow.
Bill attended Queen of Peace School in LaMarque, TX and graduated from LaMarque High School. He then attended the Merchant Marine Piney Point facility in Maryland. In his early years, he was a deckhand on Merchant Marine ships and on tugboats out of Galveston. He loved to talk about his trip to China and experiences on the tugs.
Bill loved music, old action movies, Rocky Road ice cream and dogs. His greatest love, however, was for his family, especially his nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces and nephews. He was always ready to pick up from school, take to appointments, sneak them candy and treats, or attend their activities. He was raised Catholic but embraced all Christian religions. He routinely had the television ministers on, and gave freely to their causes.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Claire Ludlow, and by his niece, Dina Harrison Dunn. He is survived by his sisters, Lana Harrison (husband Dean) and Linda Sheppard (husband Joe), nieces Shannon Lecoq (husband Corey), Katie Schuler (husband Rob), Janet Caruana, Denise Sidie (husband Regan), and nephew Dean Harrison. His grand-nieces and nephews include: Margaret Schuler, Grace Schuler, Charlotte Schuler, Millie Lecoq, Henry Lecoq, Steve Caruana, Russell Caruana, Lana Caruana and Paul Dunn.
A grave side ceremony will be held on Friday, October 4, 2024 at 2:00 PM at South Park Cemetery, 1310 N Main St, Pearland, TX 77581.
Memorials can be directed to: The Rose, the SPCA or Galveston County Food Bank
