Walter “Bill” Wilson, II
Walter “Bill” Wilson, II, 66 of Friendswood passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2021 in Webster, Texas. He was born in Greenville, South Carolina on August 5, 1954 to Walter and Bonnell Wilson.
Bill was a resident of Friendswood for over 25 years. He was a graduate of La Marque High School, Class of 1972, where he was an honor student and standout football player. Bill attended Texas Christian University and played football on an athletic scholarship. He was a member of La Marque Masonic Lodge 1325 AF&AM and La Marque Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #979. Bill retired from Dixie Chemical in 2018 after 27 years. Bill was a history buff, enjoyed watching college football, and was a professional armchair quarterback with a mean right handed TV clicker.
He is preceded in death by his mother and brother Robb Wilson. Bill is survived by his father Walter “Yank” Wilson, wife Lucille Wilson of 15 years, daughter Alexis Wilson, step-daughter Cynthia Simpson (Neal) and step-son Robert Thomas (Rischelle) sister Nancy Woodham (Terry), eight grandchildren, two nephews and one niece.
A visitation will be on Friday, February 5, 2021 from 5:00pm-8:00pm at the James Crowder Funeral Home, La Marque, with a Masonic Service to follow at 7:00pm.
Worked with Bill for a number of years. Great friend. I will miss hearing his low key, laid back country voice, and his unmistakable laugh. Tell Bubba, Chris Adair, and Alan Grundman I said hello. I still remember them often. RIP my friend until we meet again. God keep and comfort you until then.
