Together they opened and operated “The Spinning Wheel Fabric Shop” in Northville, Michigan from 1961 until they sold it in 1972. They were very involved with the Rotary Club and the Chamber of Commerce in Northville. Virginia came up with the idea of having a “Santa’s Workshop” located in downtown Northville in the 1960’s, she gathered Patti Playpal dolls and dressed them up as elves- beards, clothes, and all, and created an exciting experience for all the children of the town. Virginia and Fred retired and moved south to Bradenton, Florida in 1973.  Fred passed away in 1995, in Palmetto, Florida. Virginia remained in Palmetto until 2009.  At that time she moved to Texas to be close to her daughter and grandchildren.  Virginia was very creative and loved making things for people she loved.  She spent many years creating a replica of her grandmother’s general store in miniature. Whatever she did, she did it very well. She also loved to laugh and be with her family; who meant the world to her.
