Vida Jo Frye, 93, of Texas City, passed away, Friday February 21, 2025, at her residence. Vida was born May 27, 1931, in Holland, Texas, to Vide and Etta Gilbert.

She was a resident of Galveston County almost her entire life. Vida was a retired operator from Monsanto and Chocolate Bayou.  Vida loved Bingo, shopping and baking. She was a very loving and caring Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Great Great-Grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Claud Frye; one daughter: Levie Reed, three sons: Charles Mann, Nathan Frye, and Allen Frye, one sister: Faye Wreyford, and two brothers: Rex Gilbert and Thomas Gilbert. Vida is survived by one daughter: Linda Salles, two sisters: Gloria Howell and Clara Trogdon, and one brother: Michael Gilbert.

A memorial visitation for Vida and her son, Nathan Frye will be held from 10:00am to 11:00am, Thursday March 13, 2025, at James Crowder Funeral Home, La Marque. A Memorial Service for Vida and Nathan will follow at 11:00am, with Brother Harold Tipping officiating.
