Victor Joseph Marrero, Jr.
Victor Joseph Marrero, Jr. of Dickinson, Texas passed away on July 14, 2021 at his home in Dickinson, Texas. He was born on August 4, 1929 in Galveston, Texas to loving parents Victor Joseph Marrero, Sr. and Edna Mae Smith. He was a wonderful husband, brother, father, grandfather and cousin and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Vic spent four years serving his country in the United States Airforce during the Korean War; something of which he was immensely proud. Following his departure from the military, He worked for UTMB where he retired as Electrical Superintendent of the Electrical Department with 40 years of service. He was an avid golfer and fisherman for most of his life. He was also a faithful member of Baker Drive Baptist Church in Dickinson where he loved going to every service and event that they held, volunteering his time anywhere he could. He truly enjoyed helping others, especially with electrical work.
Victor was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, and sister Norma Jean Kraus. He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years Peggy Marrero who was his main caregiver throughout his illness, sister Verna Lawrence, cousins Karen Brustman of Austin, Harriet Mitchell of Houston, Whit Hagerman and wife Janet of Georgia, Jay Hagerman and wife Carole of North Carolina, sister-in-law Shirley Madison and husband Gene, children Monica Samuel of Virginia, Mike Cook and wife Karen of Virginia, and Edward Kevin Weade and fiancé Katie of Virginia. Vic is also survived by five grandsons, one granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews.
A special thanks goes to Ashia Sells of Webster, his very loving caregiver throughout his illness. He always had the best of care, also a special thanks to Danny Tucker who selflessly came whenever he was called to assist with Vic.
A memorial service will be held for Victor at Crowder Funeral Home in Dickinson on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 10:00 AM.
Our brats are filled with grief of your loss Peggy. Vic had a wonderful and fulfilling life.

Very sorry to hear about Vic’s passing. I worked for him for about 30 years at UTMB in the Electrical Dept. He always knew every problem and question about electricity.I know he will be missed by many.
