Verna Mae Griffith, 86, a 60 + year resident of Galveston County Texas, passed away May 15, 2015 in Alvin, Texas. She was born September 10, 1928 in Stalley, Texas to parents Manuel Brown and Johnnie Tipton Brown. Verna was a homemaker and devoted wife to L.C. Griffith for 50 years.

She is preceded in death by her husband L.C. Griffith; son Rex Manuel Griffith,Sr.; sisters, Mary Lou Dunaway, Trummer Womack, and Eva LeBlanc; and brother, John Edward Letney.

She is survived by her sons, Danny Griffith and wife Jewell, Donald Griffith and wife Linda, Jeff Griffith and wife Donna, daughter-in-law Mercy Griffith, daughters, Brenda Watson and Sharon Riddle; sisters, Ruby Warren and husband Tommy, and Lois Bryant; and numerous Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren and Great Great Grandchildren.

A visitation will be held Monday, May 18 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with funeral services 10:00 am Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at Crowder funeral Home, Dickinson, Texas. Interment follows at Hayes Grace Memorial Park, Hitchcock, Texas.
