Vengie Lee Smith Patterson, 94, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 in Texas City, Texas.  She was born to James and Edna Smith on April 25, 1927 in Mineola, Texas.  She married Vernon A. Patterson on August 20, 1947 and was married for 57 years.

Vengie is preceded in death by her parents and husband Vernon A. Patterson.  She is survived by her daughters: Virginia Beth Patterson of Texas City, Texas and Joyce Bird of League City, Texas; two grandchildren: Lori D. Santagata and husband Scott of League City, Texas and Gary D. Bird of League City, Texas and three great-grandsons: Scott D. Santagata, Owen J. Santagata and Douglas J. Bird.

A graveside service will be at 2:00pm on Monday, March 14, 2022 at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock, Texas with Bill Cole officiating.  Arrangements are under the care of the James Crowder Funeral Home, La Marque.
