Tate Michael Ryan

It is with great sadness that the family announces Tate Michael Ryan, 51, of League City, TX went to be with Our Father in Heaven on Thursday, July 4. Tate was born on October 06, 1972 in Houma, LA to Ronald Sick and Natalie Guilfou. A move around the age of 10 brought him to Missouri City where he spent his teen years forming friendships to last a lifetime. Later moving to Houston as an adult, meeting his wife, and starting a family. For the past 14 years, he has been a resident of League City.

Tate is survived by his wife of 20 years, Suzanne Ryan; son Austin “A.J.” Ryan; daughter Taylor Ryan; mother Natalie Ryan and husband Allen; father Ronald Sick; father and mother-in-law Joseph and Linda Costanza; brothers-in-law Jason Costanza and wife Nicole and Morgan Costanza and partner Tonette Boe; nephew Rowen Costanza; niece Savannah Costanza;

Tate made many friends in his life who became his family. Amongst many are best friends Bostin Chitko, Robbie Reider, Natalie Cauthen, Horatio Byrd, Roland Aguillon, J.W. Kitchens and Vincenzo Loffredo.

Tate lived his life for his family. He loved any and all things his kids were involved in. Whether he was watching his son play baseball or teaching his daughter to drive, he was devoted and always there to support them. He had a sense of humor that always got a laugh and became what so many loved about him. If you knew him, you knew a great man.

Tate will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew and loved him. A service will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, July 19, 2024 at Clear Creek Community Church, 528 Campus, Friendswood, TX with Chris Alston officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a Texas 529 Scholarship Fund for A.J. and Taylor. Please email AJ.TaylorScholarship@yahoo.com where you will receive instruction on how to contribute securely.

  1. Sincere condolences to the family. I am so very sorry for your loss. May God provide the necessary peace and comfort to your family and friends during this difficult time. Please remember these words of encouragement from the Bible: “Jesus plainly told her: I am the resurrection and the life. He that exercises faith in me, even though he dies, will come to life.” —John 11:20-25.

  2. I thank my God in all my remembrance of you- Phil 1:3.

    What an amazing friend Tate was to our entire family. We traded antics from our kids, advice, and church messages. Tate naturally became the Entertainment Executive whenever we would visit; he had the best ideas for places to go and the jovial charm to liven the party. I will never forget the how his face would shine with pride whenever he talked about his children and their accomplishments. Wishing the entire Ryan family peace that brings comfort, courage to face the days ahead, and loving memories to forever hold in your heart.

  3. So incredibly sorry Suzanne, AJ and Taylor!
    I am praying for His comfort for each of you.

    Tate was such a great friend to so many, including me! During a very difficult time he showed up and let me know he was there to help, and I knew he meant it, because he showed it with his actions.

    He brought so much joy to all that were blessed to know him! I have such fond memories of him with our children.

    The last time I saw him was one of those days I pulled into the neighborhood after getting the oil changed and a car wash for Ryan’s car. The car was accelerating the second I took my foot off the brake. I knew I couldn’t let Ryan drive the car, so I called Tate. He was there in a second. Drove the car and was like yup you have a problem, but he popped the hood, looked all over the car and figured it out! He laughed and then pointed out my WeatherTech mat placed over the gas pedal. Car wash guys put the mat back in and covered the gas pedal! We both laughed, I am so glad my last memory is just how I think of Tate, always there for anyone and such a great sense of humor. I will so miss him.

    He loved and adored you three SO much! I am so incredibly sorry for your loss and will continue to pray for His healing. I hope you continue to carry on his legacy in your lives and take care of others like he did, and of course that sense of humor.

    Love y’all!

  8. My thoughts and prayers are with you Suzanne. I’m sure your family is going through a really tough time with your loss. I met Tate while working a side job at Tommie Vaughn Ford to help put my kids through college. I worked for HPD for 42 years but really enjoyed my time at the dealership. I always enjoyed long distance running and often talked with Tate about it. One year he said he was interested in doing a marathon so he and I and my oldest son Jason trained for 5 months together and ran the Houston Marathon. I had run several before but it was a first for Tate and Jason. The joy on their face as they crossed the finish line is always a special time for me. Tate will be missed and again I will be praying for your family.
