Sylvia Isabel Spears, 89, of Webster, TX went home to her Lord on March 9, 2017.

Funeral services will be held at Seabrook Methodist Church on March 17, 2017 at 2:00 pm.

Sylvia was born in a small town of Appleton, Mn to Petra and Einar Stavig.   Her father came directly from Stavika, Norway so Norwegian was  the secondary language in their house.  Sylvia was usually the brunt of Sven and Ole jokes

Which probably doesn’t sound familiar to the folks in Texas!  (You need to be from MN to understand).  She spoke intermittent Norwegian up until just a few years ago.  She loved the country of Norway.  She loved to sew quilts, clothes, read Nora Roberts books, teach piano lessons, attended music concerts, theater events, perform solo’s and participate in women’s singing quartet.

Sylvia is preceded in death by her parents, husband George Schulte, and Ken Spears, a brother Marv, and a sister Ellen. She is survived by her daughter Beth Kramer, (League City) and son, John Schulte from Sanborn, MN.

Sylvia and her late husband Ken will be laid to rest next to George Schulte in Hackensack, MN within the next few months. (The ground needs to thaw first!)

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be given to help research for finding a cure for Alzheimer’s disease.  Alz.org
