Susan Reeves-Shifflett, age 75, of Houston, TX, passed away, October 7, 2021 with her daughter, son in-law and granddaughter by her side.

She was born in Cleveland, Ohio, November 22, 1945, and moved to Texas at a very young age.

Susan went to work for State Farm Insurance Co. in 1975, retiring in 2008. She enjoyed her career and the friends she made along the way. Glenda and Ross White were her longtime co-workers and friends and were as close to family as you could get. She was a fierce insurance adjuster, and her work gave her the life she loved.

She is survived by 3 children. Daughters, Rachelle Reeves-Smith and husband Bobby Smith of Texas City, TX and Rhonda Michelle Griffin of Austin, TX, and son Christopher Reeves of Galveston, TX.  Also, four grandchildren, Lauren Auker, Regean Reeves, Avery Reeves and Jackson Griffin and three great grandchildren, Brayden Rodriguez, Ellia Vidrio and Leo Vidrio, all of whom she loved with all her heart.

Preceding her in death is her loving husband of 23 years, Lenard Nelson Shifflett, the love of her life and soul mate.

Also preceding her in death are her parents, Virgil and Maryanne Oden, and daughter, Sabrena Denise Griffin.

Susan loved to cook and passed on the love to her children and grandchildren. She loved to entertain her good friends and family and loved her wine. She also loved going on cruises.  She went on over 100 cruises and traveled the world.  Visiting places like China, Egypt, Italy, and the Caribbean.

Susan was so loved and cherished and will be missed very much.

Internment service will be held 2:00 pm November 19, 2021, at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home & Cemetery, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77079.
