Steven William Corbin
Steven William Corbin, age 66, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2021 in San Leon, Texas. He was born on September 16, 1954 in Texas City the first child of Jack and Lou Belle Corbin. Steve grew up in El Lago, Texas and graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1973 where he proudly played on many championship basketball teams.
Steve was a gregarious personality and a stranger to no one. People were attracted to Steve’s energy and quick-witted personality, which he shared generously. These traits served Steve well in his long and successful career as an entrepreneur, primarily in the petroleum industry specializing in environmental services focused on petroleum waste recycling. Most notably, Steve was a Founding Shareholder of DuraTherm, Inc. which grew to be the largest treatment center for petroleum refinery hazardous waste in the United States. He was well known and respected throughout the petroleum refining and environmental services industries. However, Steve was never one to settle for a single career. He had many concurrent business endeavors throughout his career which included real estate, transportation, ranching and retail businesses.
Throughout his life, Steve was a talented fisherman participating in many Bass and Bay competitions. He was an avid sportsman in all aspects and loved the outdoors. Steve developed deep personal friendships in his childhood which were sustained for a lifetime. Steve will be fondly remembered as a bright light taken too soon and dearly missed by many friends, associates and family members.
Steve met the love of his life, Tanya Dee Caskey in the seventh grade at Seabrook Intermediate School. They would eventually marry on January 03, 1976. Their marriage resulted in the birth of their two sons Jeremiah and Jacob whom he loved and adored. Tanya and Steve led an adventurous life together as they separated and re-united several times but in the end, Tanya was by his side and he would not have had it any other way.
Steve is preceded in death by his parents Jack and Lou Belle Corbin, maternal grandparents, Lou Alice and William Belcher, paternal grandparents Hazel and Steven Corbin and his niece Anna Corbin. In addition to Tanya, Steve is survived by his sons, Jeremiah and Jacob, their wives Sarah and Jenisa, grandchildren, Jaxon, Jakoby and Tate, and his brother Jeff and his wife Melinda.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations made in Steve’s honor to a charity of your choice and recommend the Coastal Conservation Association of Texas. www.ccatexas.org

Steve was a great man. I liked him very much. Professionally he was good. Real good !! A very authentic tell-it-like-it-was individual. Always working ….. and fishing. Never would disclose his fishing spots. We will miss him.
RIP Steve I always had much respect for you
I loved watching him play basketball – so handsome and talented, and always a nice person. Although I was a couple of years younger than me, he always spoke to me with sincere interest. Sending love and light to those missing him – hold right to your memories of him – they will live in your hearts forever. Love, Angie
I think of the many times that our group had so many adventures…some we had to beg forgiveness to get out of and try to keep a secret! I have to laugh as Steve would drop by the apartment and entertain all.
I will miss and love you forever my sweet friend❤️

We may have only crossed paths briefly at DuraTherm, but you impacted my life in a Good way for over 30 years. I am so sad that you moved on, but shall ALWAYS be grateful to have known you even that short time.
You once told me “it doesn’t matter how you feel today, focus on how you want to feel tomorrow” ♥️♥️♥️ Thank you for that.
