Shirley “Mickey” Terry, 82 of Texas City, passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2017 in Texas City.
Mickey was born June 29, 1935 in Jennings, LA, the daughter of Seeley Guidry and Grace Mary Courts Guidry. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph E. Terry Jr., parents, two sisters Rae Woods and Charlene Johnson, two brothers Lynn Guidry and Bobby Guidry.

She has lived in Texas City since 1947, a longtime member of St. Mary’s of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church. Mickey helped her sister Lois, run the Texas Lounge and Duffy’s for over forty years. She loved spending time with family and friends, also cooking and entertaining for them.

Mickey is survived by her daughter Jo Ellen Thompson (Pete); sister Lois Solis; brother Jerry Guidry (Bea); grandchild Brandy Thompson; and four great grandchildren Kaylan Booker, Ravyn Thompson, Natiya Dickie and Mar’King Jones. She is also survived by numerous other family members and her special friend Jackie Childress.

Visitation will be 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday, October 2, 2017 at St. Mary’s of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church with a Rosary at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at St. Mary’s of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church, 1604 9th Ave North, Texas City, with Father Clint Ressler, officiating. Interment will follow at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock, Texas.
