Shirley Jean Kemmerling died Saturday December 11, 2021. Shirley was born on January 1, 1935 in Belleville, Illinois, township of Saint Claire. She was the only daughter of John and Almira Van Osdale, who preceded her in death. Shirley graduated from Hollywood High School in Los Angeles, California.

Shirley met and married Donald T. Kemmerling in 1954 in Los Angelos where he was stationed with the US Navy. They moved to Hitchcock, TX in 1958 and raised their four children.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, first love, and father of her children, Donald T. Kemmerling, Sr., son Donald T. Kemmerling Jr, son-in-law Joey Zepeda Sr, and second husband JR Orsak.  She is survived by her 3 children Brian Kemmerling (wife Anita), Larry Kemmerling (wife Katy), Tracy Zepeda, and daughter-in-law Brenda Kemmerling. She is also survived by her 13 grandchildren; Donald T. Kemmerling, III (wife Tina), Joshua Kemmerling (wife Shellie), Cody Kemmerling (wife Delilah), Lee Kemmerling, Jane Kemmerling, Jeffrey Kemmerling (wife Jessica), Andrew Kemmerling (wife Stephanie), Amy Krodel (husband Aaron), Brooke Clarke (husband Zack), Joseph Zepeda Jr.,  Brittany Perry (husband Nate), Thomas Zepeda, Jesse Zepeda and 21 great grandchildren.

A visitation will be on Thursday, December 16, 2021 from 12:00Noon – 2:00pm       at the James Crowder Funeral Home, La Marque.  Funeral Service will follow at 2:00pm with Allen Ritchie officiating. Interment will be at Hypolite Perthuis Cemetery in Hitchcock following the service.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Joseph Zepeda, Jr., Thomas Zepeda, Jesse Zepeda, Jeffrey Kemmerling, Andrew Kemmerling, Donald Kemmerling, III, Joshua Kemmerling and Cody Kemmerling.
