Sharon Simon
Sharon Simon 80, of Houston, Texas, passed away January 13, 2024, in Houston, Texas. She was born February 18, 1943, in Port Arthur, Texas to parents Charles and Anna Mae Simon. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Port Arthur, Texas in 1960.
Sharon was a beautiful cajun queen and an ardent mother. There was nothing more important than her kids. She raised two children while working in the retail sector. Sharon knew how to make a house a home. An excellent seamstress, she regularly made first-rate suits and various outfits from scratch for her children while they were growing up. One of note was the exceptional quality of the signature Don Johnson white jacket she made for her son in high school. A top-notch cook, her interests ranged from typical American fare to cajun cooking. She wasn’t limited to domestic talents; she successfully took on new tasks whether it was fixing one of her appliances, building a brick fence, etc, when the need arose. Sharon enjoyed spending time at the beach, loved flowers (raising all kinds of irises and tending her rose garden), and quality time with her kids.
Sharon is preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her daughter, Sherry Weems, son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Masae Patrick, sisters, Deann Hilton and husband Will, Bridgett Porter and husband Billy, brothers, Kent Simon and wife Rubie, and Bret Simon.
A celebration of Sharon’s life will be held on January 19, 2024, 10:00 A.M. at the Crowder Funeral Home, located at 2422 E. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581.
Interment will follow in the South Park Cemetery located at 1310 N. Main St. Pearland, Texas 77581.
Ms. Sharon was a beautiful young lady inside and out. The day I helped her Daddy Charlie at her home in Bridge City, she was very funny and we all laughed a lot that day. My sister Carol Sandifer, my cousin Karen Ledet and myself are very sorry she has passed on. But a family is like Rose petals, as time goes by the petals fall off one by one until we all are gone and return to the earth. One day soon we will be all together again in a beautiful Rose Garden. R.I.P. Sharon!
Thanks for the kind reflection Mr. Sandifer.
Our sincere condolences to Sharon’s children Jeff and Sherry and also her brothers and sisters. Our prayers for peace for all. So sorry we can’t attend the service due to illness!
