Sharon LaRue Hussey Cornett, 74, of Texas City passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 in Texas City.  She was born on November 27, 1950 to Joseph and Flora Hussey in Galveston, Texas.

Sharon formerly lived in La Marque and was a La Marque High School graduate. She graduated from U of H and worked at Mainland Medical Center Hospital for over 30 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and her sister Shelia Martelli.  Sharon is survived by her husband of 44 years, Stephen Cornett, daughter Marissa Cornett (Jeremy Hudson) and son Patrick Cornett (Krista Skidmore), brother-in-law Gary Cornett and sister-in-law Leslie Cornett, her two grandchildren; Zoe Hudson and Cameron Hudson.

A visitation will be on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 from 5:00pm-8:00pm at the Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque.  Funeral service will be on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at 10:00am at the Crowder Funeral Home.  Interment will follow at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock, Texas.
