Samuel Deckard Slaton, 39, of Texas City, passed away Sunday, November 8, 2015.  Samuel was born December 1, 1975 to Gerald L. and Lynne LeCroy Slaton in Texas City, Texas. Samuel was proud of his service to his country in the U.S. Marine Corps and the U.S. Army. He also served as a Deputy Sheriff for Galveston County, a member of the Galveston Police Dept. and a volunteer for the Hitchcock Volunteer Fire Department.  Samuel most recently was known as the owner operator and certified Harley Davidson Repairman of Southern Cycles, Texas City.

Samuel leaves behind to cherish his memory his parents; daughter, Alexandria Slaton; Step-Daughter, Deja Villarreal; grandmother Rose Bertolino; step grandmother, Mona LeCroy; brother, Marcus Slaton; ex-wife, Petrina Gonzales; Aunts and uncles, Kaki McCormick, Leah Thorn, Lisa Camy (Luis), Debbie Vicknair (Earl), Charles Bertolino (Barbara), Dennis Bertolina (Nancy), John Bertolino, and Lori Kusnerik (Brian); numerous cousins and friends; and his trained German Shepherd, Chief.

A memorial service in honor of Samuel will be held 10:00 am, Thursday, November 12, 2015 at Crowder Funeral Home Chapel, Dickinson, Texas.  A reception will follow at Pooks, 4015 FM 646 N., Santa Fe, TX  77510
