He started his career at Cauley Electric and eventually ended his career as an electrician for HiTec Electric for just over 21 years. He was an avid car lover from an early age, that being a hobby he was able to share with not only his father but all of his brothers. He leaves behind his daughter Katherine Burns; daughter Rhianne Morgan and her husband Trey Morgan; son, Russell Burns, Jr. and wife Amy Burns; grandchildren, Tyler Morgan, Collin Morgan, Alyssa Morgan and Hannah Burns; brother, Kenny Burns, Jr. and wife Jeane Burns; as well as his sister-in-law and close friend, Rita Burns; and many more extended family members.

So sorry for your loss. He was a great friend and loved by many. Love the picture, definitely how he’ll be remembered.
May you rest in peace Russell and keep catching “the big ones”! We had a lot of fun back in the old mobile home park with with our families together. Those were the good ol’ days!
Please give our mom a hug up there until we all meet again….

Gone way way way too soon.
Always grateful and always said he was ‘the luckiest man in the room.’

I’m not sure that my first message went through so I’m going to try again….
Rest in peace Russell. You will always be remembered by our family with all of the barbecues we had and being neighbors in the Ol’ mobile home park in Pearland. We had so many good times and they were truly the best times. Keep catching “The Big Ones” and give our mother a hug up there. Until we meet again….

Thoughts and prayers for the family. Rusty and I grew up together. In those days we crammed a life time of living into a short number of years. In our young adult years we worked at Cauley Electric together and shared an apartment on telephone rd. We thought we owned the world. We laughed, cried and fought together, sometimes with each other. As we got older we grew apart, mainly because I moved out of state. We reconnected in our Middle Ages, unfortunately at a funeral for a close friend but stayed in touch over the last several years. Russell loved his job and was seemed at peace with his life. I will always be thankful that we were able to reestablish our friendship. I will miss him deeply. God bless you Rusty!
Kat,
Our love, thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.

I don’t know what to say. Every day I looked forward to working with you (even when you were yelling at me, to me, and around me:)… Over the many years we worked together you taught me so much, gave me the confidence and the tools that put me where I am today in my career. Thank you, my friend and mentor, I am forever grateful for the time we had. You will be sorely missed.
My thoughts and prayers go out to your family and all who will miss you.
See you on the other side my friend!
God bless you,
Ed

My sweet friend , just wanted you to know you and your family
Are in my thoughts and prayers . Love and hugs sent your way my friend .
I had the fortune to meet and work with Russell in the early 80’s when we both worked at Collier Electric. I was a project superintendent at Collier Electric and hired Russell. He was young, worked hard and eager for responsibility. Russell was dedicated and responsible; we worked together on several projects and later occasionally crossed paths. I remember he used to race go-karts and met him at a track one weekend at Liverpool, TX. I really enjoyed knowing and working with Russell and am happy to call him my friend. Rest in peace Russell, prayers and peace to his family.
