Roy Estell DeFriese, 85, resident of Dickinson, Texas passed from this life, Friday, June 15, 2018 surrounded by family. He was born April 10, 1933 to proud parents, Melvin Roy & Mintie LilleMae DeFriese, in Georgetown, Tennessee.
He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and went on to a career as an elevator mechanic. Roy was a member of the S. Houston American Legion #0490, also a member of local union 31 for elevator mechanics. Roy was also a member of the Coastal Baptist Church.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Roy Curtis DeFriese, and granddaughter, Patricia Lynn Wright.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, two daughters, Teresa Wright, Karan Wilkins & husband Jay; close friend, Connie Harrison; one sister Evelyn Mayhew; two brothers, David DeFriese & wife Lupe, Donald Gene DeFriese; six grandchildren, James Wright, Stacey O’Brien, Jay Wilkins, Jr., Jimmy Wilkins, Jeremy Wilkins, & Stephanie Tennant; as well as sixteen great grandchildren.
In his honor a visitation will be held at Crowder Funeral Home Chapel, Dickinson, Texas on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 from 10:00 – 11:00am with a funeral service following at 11:00am.
