Robert Paul De Young
Robert Paul De Young passed away January 16th, 2021 surrounded by his family at his home in Houston, Texas. Robert was born in Beaver, PA on January 27th, 1935 to Daisy Mortimer Harn.
Robert had a passion for cars. He loved buying, fixing, and racing them. He also loved dancing, playing tennis, and playing with his dog, Prince. Robert loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. Robert was an engineer, and later helped the love of his life, Helen Gordon, of 41 years, at the Greensheet.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Gordon, his mother Daisy Harn, his stepsister, Dorthy “Dot” Furguelle, and stepsister, Helen De Young.
Robert is survived by his son Brian, and his wife Julie De Young, his daughter Sheryl, and her husband, Michael Bergdahl, his half-sister, Sandy Harn, and half-brother Eric Harn, his step daughters, Kathleen Douglas, and Rebecca Blakely. He had 9 grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 3:00pm at Crowder Funeral Home, 1645 East Main, League City, Texas 77573.
Bob was a fine man and a good friend for thirty years. With Helen, we had a number of great memories. Sadly, we lost touch after I moved to Georgia in 2013. His large family will surely miss him.
