Robert Garrett Savage, 68 of La Marque, passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, on Thursday, May 12, 2022.

He was born March 14, 1954, in Augusta, Georgia to Robert H. Savage and Janice Zimmerman, née Hancock.

Robert “Bobby” Savage loved auto racing, riding motorcycles, working on old cars, camping & floating the river, and attempting his hand at golf.  He would do anything for a smile, and you could count on him to be the life of the party because he was always cracking jokes, laughing and making others laugh. He adored his children and treasured their childhood with summers on the beach and plenty of camping adventures. His grandchildren & great-grandchildren were a great source of pride.

Bobby was a master fabricator & welder and was highly respected in his field of expertise – he enjoyed teaching others at Zachry Industrial & throughout his career in construction.

Bobby is preceded in death by his father Robert H. Savage. He is survived by the mother of his children, and best friend, Velvie Savage, son Robert Shane Savage, daughters Amy Underwood & spouse John Underwood, Crystal Savage & spouse Aaron Molina, sisters Thelma Knowles of Hudson, Indiana & Susan Sparks of Las Vegas, Nevada, grandchildren Donielle Savage (28), Che Underwood (25), Keara Savage (18), Rayla Underwood (18), Kami Savage (16), Joshua Savage (10), great-grandkids Jayden Sontay (4), Hudson Hughes (4), Ella Hughes (2), and numerous cousins & nieces and nephews.

A “Celebration of Life” will be held privately with family & friends. Bobby requested his ashes be scattered at Surfside Beach & New Braunfels where fond family memories were shared.
