Robert “Bob” Weekly
Robert “Bob” Weekly, 76, left us on September 3, 2023 after a short battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his beloved wife Debbie Hardee Weekly and loved ones.
Bob was born in South Charleston West Virginia to Ona and James Weekly where he lived until relocating with his family to Texas City in the late 70’s.
Employed as an insulator he had the privilege to work side by side with his Dad and son Rocky, until he began a career with Gulf Coast Water Authority as a maintenance supervisor where he worked until his retirement. After retirement he kept himself busy as a windstorm inspector working side by side with his son again.
As a proud member of Masonic Lodge #1118 in Texas City for 38 years he cherished the brotherhood of both the Mason and Shriners organizations and the philanthropy each organization contributed to the community.
Known affectionately as “Big Bob” to so many he was the happiest when he was with family or traveling with his “Doll Baby” Debbie. He always had a “Dad Joke” to share or a story to tell, always the man to show up in any time of need.
Bob is survived by his wife of 24 years Debbie Hardee-Weekly; a son, James “Rocky” Weekly and wife Jeanine; daughters: Kristine Weekly and their mother Gayle Furleigh and Meredith Wray and husband Shawn, all of Texas City; two sisters: Lisa Allen (Donald) of Webster, Texas and Deena Kraft (David) of Lancaster Ohio.
Grandchildren: Brian and Shane Weekly, Macie, Jackson and Carter Wray and Cole Robinson. As well as a host of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and Cousin William “Bill” Weekly and wife Charlotte of Lima Ohio are left to cherish his memory.
A special thank you to Laura LaBry with Magnolia Hospice for the compassionate care she provided to Bob in his final days.
Bob was such a light to all of us so please do not feel obligated to wear black to his celebration of life services.
A memorial service will take place at 3:00pm Friday, September 15, 2023 at James Crowder Funeral Home, La Marque.

It is with a heavy heart, that i speak of Bob. He will truly be missed by my family and everyone that knew him. He brighten any room he walked in, weather you knew him or not, but he would soon know you, because no one was a stranger. He Always gave a helping hand, no need to ask. He had an endless supply of jokes to share. He loved family, and adored his wife (Debbie) and it was obvious when you were with them. To know BOB was to love BOB and he was dearly loved!
With all our love to a wonderful man.
