Richard Lynn Morton
Richard Lynn Morton, 74 of Texas City passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at HCA Mainland in Texas City. He was born on December 12, 1948 in Houston to Thomas Haden Morton, Sr. and Norma Cherie Morton.
Richard was a resident of Texas City for 20 years, formerly of La Marque. He graduated from La Marque Class of 1967and joined the United States Marine Corps. Richard worked for Amoco/BP for 40 years before retiring. Richard enjoyed spending time with family and friends, hunting, gambling and listening to live music. This loving husband, father, brother and Paw-Paw will be missed.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Haden Morton, Sr. and Norma Cherie Morton, brother Jerry D. Morton and his first wife Susan Pritchard Morton. He is survived by his wife Donna Kay Morton, sons; Chris Morton, Heath Morton and Brent Morton and stepson Cody Bowman; grandchildren, Madison, Kennedy, Evelyn, Gunner and Halli, his brothers; Kevin Morton (Monica) and Tom Morton (Darlene) and sister-in-law Lori Stanton Morton.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to nurse’s staff at HCA ICU 3rd Floor, Dave, Mark and Prisilla.
A Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at 4:00pm at the Crowder Bayou Camp in Dickinson, Texas (8911 Paula Lane, Dickinson, TX 77539).

I am so saddened by your loss. Though I have only seen Richard occasionally since high school, I just loved this guy and have such fond, fun memories of him…such a great guy! He will be missed by so many. My love and prayers to his family.
