Richard Francis Klenk
September 1, 1937 – October 10, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard Francis Klenk, who peacefully departed from us on the morning of October 10, 2024, in Texas, at the age of 87. Richard was born on September 1,1937 in Brooklyn, NY, to Christian and Margaret Klenk. Richard raised his two children on Long Island, NY. In 1999, he and his wife Catherine moved and resided in Titusville, Florida.

Richard received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Engineering and began his career in aviation and transportation services. His expertise in airport construction allowed him to travel and experience the world. He was a kind soul, known for his jokes and loving personality. He loved watching Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, and Hallmark movies. He also enjoyed visiting Disney, whether with family, friends, or on his own. Each visit left him eager to share stories about the newest additions to the parks. Richard had a wealth of knowledge that he loved to pass down to everyone he met, captivating them with his stories and leaving them wanting more.

Richard loved hanging out with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Each one has had their own special bond that will forever stay with them. Each one will have their own special stories that they will share.

His greatest love was his wife, Catherine, to whom he was married for 59 years. Before her passing in August, 2018, they cherished visiting their children, Richard and Patricia, and watching their grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow and achieve their dreams.

Richard is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Alicia Klenk, and his daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Peter Johnson. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Richard (Marlen) Klenk, James Klenk, John Klenk, Debra Johnson, Dawn Johnson, and Peter Johnson, as well as his three great-grandchildren, Daniel, Bradley, and Emma, along with many loving family and friends.

  2. Mr.Klenk, you were one of my earliest influences on so many things in my early life.
Cub Scout leader that took us on many field trips. My 1st time on an airplane travelling to Florida where you introduced me to Disney, Kennedy Space center etc.
When I was hit by a car you were the 1st one on the scene to check on me and calm me down!!
Many more memories are coming back to me.
I especially enjoyed receiving Christmas cards from you every year for almost 50 years!
I know God has a very special place for you in heaven.
Rest in Peace Mr. Klenk, I hope I am good enough to see you again in heaven!!!

  3. Mr Klenk taught me to ski! He helped me get a summer job in my field. So many good times in the back yard pool, playing canasta, trips to Jersey shore. You had an impact on so many lives! Praying for Richie, Alicia, Patti and Pete and all the grand children that they are comforted during this time of great loss. We all have him in our hearts.
