Ricardo Ramirez

Ricardo Ramirez, 70, went home to rest, September 06, 2021 in Houston, TX. He was born in Laredo, TX on August 06, 1951 to Willie and Ofelia Ramirez. Ricardo graduated Madison High School Houston, TX 1972.  He retired from State Farm Insurance as a Catastrophe Adjuster.  He was a people person and loved his State Farm family as well as the customers he was able to assist during difficult times.

He attended St. Helen’s Catholic church and could be seen at 5pm Saturday mass with his wife, without fail.  Words cannot capture the dedication to his wife of 47 years.  Every Sunday he made dinner for his family and would watch with a gleam in his eye as you took your first bite.  After you proclaimed it the best you ever tasted he would say, “Because I made it with love”.  Sunday dinner, Christmas breakfasts and holiday roasts served with love, his legacy of generosity eternal.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Willie Ramirez Jr.; brother-in-law, Royce Guinn; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Elijio and Elida Rivera.

Ricardo leaves behind to cherish his memories his wife, Marcella Ramirez; daughter, Annie Ramirez; son, Dickie Ramirez, Jr.; siblings: Linda Muniz spouse Noe Muniz, George Ramirez spouse Lori Ramirez, Arthur Ramirez spouse Barbara Ramirez, Lorraine Clodfelter, Becky Ramirez spouse Vahid Sadeghpour; in-laws Robert and Rita Rivera, Mary and Jesse Rangel, Fela Gonzales, Rita Glass, Chuck and Dorothy Rivera, Anita Flores, Susie Reyes, Chris and Darla Rivera, Toni River and Tonya Taylor, Ben and Tracy Rivera; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and God children.

  4. The hearing of Dick’s passing truly saddened my heart. I’m grateful I had the opportunity to work with him at State Farm. He taught me a lot regarding estimating and with HVAC systems. He was always willing to help! He was indeed a GREAT man! I never met his dear wife, but I knew he loved her dearly. He spoke with his eyes so bright and smiling when he spoke of her. He was always smiling and especially when he spoke about his family. As his co-worker, I could see how much love and passion he had about taking care of his family. He was a good and faithful servant. Well Done His Servant. My thoughts and prayers surround his wife, children and family during this difficult loss. May you find peace, comfort, and strength in the fond memories! God Bless you.

  5. Dick was a valued member of our team and loved helping our customers. He was so proud of the set-up for his van and made sure to show others how they could be more organized with their vehicles. Dick also shared his knowledge of HVAC Units. He knew all the ends and outs and was a huge resource for us.

Dick loved his family and always talked about how proud he was of their accomplishment’s. He would often give me advise with his learnings over the years to help me be a better family man. We will miss him but never forget the impact he’s had on our lives.

  8. I had the pleasure of getting to know Dickie over the past 12 years. WOW! What a sweet and generous man! It was always so very obvious that Dickie was an amazing: son, brother, husband, dad, uncle and a loving brother-in-law to me! I will miss you Dickie and the sweetness that you shared every time I saw you! I will miss the smile and sparkle in your eye when you spoke of Marcella! You did not have to tell me she was the love of your life – I (we) all saw it in your great big smile and that unforgettable twinkle in your eye! Your love and courage have certainly been passed down to your children Annie and Dickie Jr. All those in their lives will experience YOU and the great heritage you have left in this world! I am giving you a BIG bear hug now in my heart and I hope that you feel the love as I did each time we saw each other and you had a big bear hug for me!
I love you! I think of you and the Heavenly host that was able to greet you the day you left this world and it makes me smile. Until we meet again I send you love and hugs and I say WOW, I am so glad to have been blessed to know you this side of Heaven!

  11. Dick was, as everyone has stated a “Truly Great Man”. He was an awesome resource and always willing to help. He was extremely patient. He would take time and explain estimates to me when I wanted to understand what he was doing. Dick’s customers knew they could always count on him whenever they called. He will truly be missed.

My thoughts and prayers are with Dick’s Family!

  12. I am so sad to hear of the death of my sweet and hilarious cousin Dickie. We were the same age and very close as youngsters. I remember he and I feeding each other dirt as kids and we must have been a handful! He used to pin me down and tickle me until I couldn’t breathe, laughing all the time. All the Vela and the Ramirez kids were at the gas station on the eve that the Ramirez family won the drawing for Tex (a real pony!) and we all got to ride him as Uncle Willie walked him home. What fun we all had playing hide and seek in “The Ditch” and eating Uncle Willie’s bbq ribs after; then all of us kids sitting in front of the TV in the dark to watch that scarey show “Wierd”. I called Dickie during this Covid pandemic and he said he wasn’t going to let this pandemic hold him down. Dickie was a loving, kind person; always big hearted. My condolences to the family and my dear cousins. It is so hard to lose a sibling and I will pray for all of you. Please find comfort in John 11:25 and Revelation 21:4,5. Much love, Georgette (Georgie) French

  13. The hearing of Dick’s passing sadden my heart. Dick was a good friend and wonderful teammate. When I became a Claim Representative he invited me to his home for training. He wanted to make sure that I succeeded in my new job. He was a wonderful person that we should all strive to imitate. Dick truly loved Marcella and his children. I will always cherish the relationship and friendship that I shared with he and his family. Words cannot describe how sorry I am for this loss.

    You’re in my prayers.

  14. Peace be with you!
Dickie, you are now among the FAITHFUL SERVANTS, who have gone before you.
Please give Alex and Charley a Holy Hug from me. We all have an appointed time to go back to Our Father, Who art in Heaven. There is a time for everything under the Heavens:
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:
a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.
    Ecclesiastics 3:1-8

God is in CHARGE of everything and HE needs you HOME right now. Please allow God to use you as an Intercessor from Heaven for your Family to PRAY, PRAY, PRAY for them and to Love them with the DIVINE LOVE GOD will provide for you to share. His Divine Love is so powerful and I am experiencing it every day directly from Heaven from my husband, Alex and from my first born, Son, Charley. Marcella will be Blessed to enJOY Heaven on earth, ALLELUIA, Amen, Amen, Amen, again I say Amen.

  18. I’m so sorry to hear about Dick. We worked together for years, and he was more than a co-worker. He was our lunch buddy, HVAC guru, counselor and friend. He made us laugh every day. He was that rare, truly kind person.

My condolences to his wife and family. He talked about all of you so often, we felt we knew you. He loved you so deeply.

  19. God bless the family of this wonderful man. I got to know him the last few years he was at State Farm. We became good friends. My job allowed me to join him on claims from time to time. We worked well together and he always welcomed me to join him.

I was so saddened when I heard of his passing. Rest in peace my friend.
