Raymond Frederick Thew
Raymond Frederick Thew passed away on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 in Houston, Texas at the age of 71.
Born on April 3rd, 1947 in Twisp Washington to Francis P. Thew and Herbert R. Thew. He was raised in Chelan Washington on his parent farm. Ray always spoke of how loving and kind his mother was; he bragged about how wonderful her cooking was, from everything grown on their farm. He also talked of how hard working his father was, a trait he got from his father. He always said, “I will die with the shovel in my hand”, hard worker he was.
As a child growing up on the farm, Ray would rise early before sunrise and tend to the animals before going to school.
At age 13, he worked at a sawmill close to home. No one really knew how old he was because of his maturity. He later left home as an adult and traveled the world working at chemical plants; his job landed him in Trinidad where he met the love of his life, Mrs. Andrea A.P. Thew. Married on 17th of April 2004 and later moved to The United States to start their family.
He started working with cat Spec Ltd from 2005. This job was like a second home to him. He loved his job and everyone around him. He had a do it good or don’t do it at all mentality.
He loved his family and the best times he had was with them. He On the weekends, he made breakfast with the apple of his eyes, his last child, Renee. She always said, “dad is my favorite”.
Whether its building a huge tree house for his kids, dressing up in silly costumes, or playing Santa at Christmas, Raymond lived and breathe for his family.
He was preceded in death by his father Herbert R. Thew, mother Frances P. Thew, sisters Rhoda Fellows, Ruth Thew, and Arlene Thew and brother Sheldon Thew. Raymond is survived by his wife Andrea A.P. Thew, children Mathew, Jeremy, Afiah, Anderson, Andre’, and Renee, Siblings Agnes Weigum, Kathy Thew, Janet Manig, Jim Thew and grandchildren Damien, Ava and River.The Family offers their utmost appreciation and extends a special thank you to Cat Spec Ltd, Strong Hold specialty Ltd, Dr. Bhalla, Dr. Tapan and his leukemia team (MD Anderson), Staffs at Clear Falls High, Sis Adriean Smith, Sis Leslie Bradley Gibson for all of their kindness, prayers and support.
A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at 12:00 PM at Crowder Funeral Home, 1645 East Main Street, League City, Texas 77573.
