Perry Lee Carpenter
Perry Lee Carpenter, aged 70, died peacefully at his home on December 11, 2021. Born in Berea, Kentucky on August 5, 1951, he grew up in Ludlow, Kentucky with his parents Warren and Pauline and two older brothers Gerald and Alvin “Pete” Carpenter. After graduating from Ludlow High School in 1969, he joined the Air Force and served in Vietnam. He moved to Texas 1978 and met the love of his life, Nancy Brown Carpenter in Austin in 1981. They moved to Galveston, Texas in 1995.
Perry spent many years as a long-haul trucker where he was able to visit every state in the continental US. He loved driving, taking panoramic pictures of the scenery, and calling home to sing to the cat on the answering machine. In his spare time, Perry loved to fish, barbecue and cook, and spend time with his pets, family, and friends. He was also a member of American Legion Post No. 20.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers. Survivors are his wife Nancy Carpenter, step-daughter Stephanie Carter, both of Galveston, Texas, and sister-in-law Marilyn and niece Dana.

My wife and I cherish the memories of the Mardi Gras parties at y’alls house by the sea wall . Perry was good as gold .
