Neita Berneze Felty

Beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and cherished friend, age 62 of Houston, Texas, formerly
of Pearland. Born in Pasadena, Texas to Loyd and Laura Wilson; Neita grew up and graduated high
school in Pearland, TX. She was an exceptional daughter, sibling and friend to so many. Known as a
positive light who greeted all with a smile.
Neita married her high school sweetheart, Jay French shortly after graduating and together they welcomed
son, Jason Alan French and three years later daughter, Shannon Michelle French into the world. In 1989
Neita married the love of her life, Tim Felty and together they welcomed son, Blake Everett Felty in
1992. Neita had a love of traveling, baseball, and giving back to her community. Of all her loves, she relished time spent with her boisterous family, and took great pride in her children’s success. Her most recent favorite role was that as a grandparent. She treasured time with her grandkids and loved being their
‘Pinky,’ never failing to spoil them with treats or fun experiences, and always imparting patience and kindness. Everyone who knew Neita knew how much she loved the Houston Astros. She was likely seen in her Houston Astros gear on game days, and many have heard stories of her and her closest friends, Keith and Karen Nutt, attending games and cheering on their home team. Neita was called by God to help others and did so by being an active volunteer with the City of Houston’s homeless. She could often be found passing out essential need’s kits, water and blankets she stocked in her car, going above and beyond to SEE those that society had looked away from. Neita had an infectious smile and an endearing, loving personality. Friends and family looked to her as she often found a way to turn a negative situation into a positive opportunity. Most importantly, she will be remembered for her unwavering love of Jesus Christ and her relationship with our Lord and Savior. Neita had a sharp and analytical mind, she was passionate about her work as Controller at Holmes Investments where she was currently employed. She worked throughout her successful career with firms such as Klosek & Associates, Legacy Trust Company, and Werlein  Harris.

Neita was preceded in death by her husband, Tim Felty, and is survived by her parents, Loyd and Laura Wilson; sisters, Sondra (Robert) Reese, Lauretta (Mike) Heidorn, Dyanna (Neil) (Evangeline) Wilson; children, Jason (Ashley) French, Shannon (Kenneth) Adair, Blake Felty; Grandchildren, Henry and Evelyn French, Weston and Marlee Adair.

Life Celebration to be held at CityView Church, 6301 Broadway Street, Pearland, TX 77581 Friday, September 6, 2024 at 10am; limited parking, please carpool. In lieu of flowers donations to SEARCH (searchhomeless.org) would be greatly appreciated by the family in honor of Neita’s memory.

  2. Growing up next to her daughter was one of the most life changing periods of my life! Because of Neita- my family found GOD- I found GOD- & we all became better followers of Christ! I’ve always given Neita & Tim credit for my turning out as well as I have! I’ve always strived to be more like her when waking my children up for school—-as she did us— and has her father did when he took us to school! An amazing FAMILY INSIDE & OUT!!! GOD took his angel back & alhtough I’m sad temporarily, I know I will one day see her again!!!! Love you Neita!!!
