Mr. Jose Antonio Morales
Mr. Jose Antonio Morales, 78, died peacefully at St. Dominic’s Village Nursing Home on March 13, 2016 in Houston, Texas.
He leaves his wife of 49 years Barbara (Healy) Morales, his daughters Liza (Morales) Garza and Patricia Morales, his son-in-law Robert Garza, and his grandson Robert Antonio Garza, of Houston, Texas. He is also survived by his brothers Pedro, Ramon, Jesus, and Carlos Morales, his sister Marta Morales, many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mr. Morales is preceded in death by his parents Gualberto Morales and Feliciana Garcia, his siblings Maria del Socorro, Alfredo, Maria de la Trinidad, Maria Elena, and Maria Teresa as well as Gualberto, Maria Elena, and Jose Luis who died as small children.
Mr. Morales was born on January 17, 1938 in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico. While in his teens, his family moved to Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico where he graduated from El Centro de Estudios Universitarios with a degree in Business Administration. Later on he was employed at Empresas Longoria S.A. de C.V. and Tequila Cuervo S.A. de C.V.
He will be remembered as an avid fan of Pedro Infante and Mario Moreno Cantinflas movies and a lover of classical and Mexican “trio” music. Love he passed on to his family. Additionally, he liked to listen to opera sung by Placido Domingo.
The viewing will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 18th at the Crowder Funeral Home in Webster, Texas with a rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 19th at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery, Dickinson, Texas.
Memorial donations for Jose Antonio Morales may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association.
