Morris Lee Wortelboer, age 72, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2023.  Morris was born January 31, 1951 in Muskegon, Michigan to the late Henry Richard and Janet (Raynor) Wortelboer. Morris is survived by his four sons, Morris Jr of Germany, Lucas and Jay of California and Stephen of Galveston, TX; three grandchildren, Dylan Lee, Lyla Eve and Shannon; brothers Ralph of Bella Vista, Arkansas, Gilbert of Missouri and sister Judith Grace of Temple, TX; Sister-in-law, Lois of California; and several nieces and nephews, Julie, Aaron, Michael, Kimberly, Lynndee, and Bobbie.
Preceding Morris in death were his parents, brother Gerald (Jerry), grandparents Henry and Lottie Wortelboer, aunts and uncles Bernard and Dorothy VanderLaan, Lester and Nina Bacon, Fred and Dorothy Wortelboer.

Morris family moved from Ravenna to California. While on a bus back to Ravenna it was decided that Morris should live with Dorothy and Bernard VanderLaan . He attended Ravenna schools and then entered the Army. Upon returning home he became a successful restaurateur with a Steak and Seafood Restaurant.  After getting restless he ended up in Dickinson, TX working for his cousin, Steve Kass at Traffic Systems Construction.  After retiring he moved to Galveston, TX to be close to the water. He loved fishing and cooking what he caught.

Cremation has taken place. Services will be held on December 16, 2023 at 10 am at Crowder Funeral Home, Dickinson, TX
