Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at the James Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at 10:00am at the funeral home.
Mollie Jane Dixon (83) passed into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, July 12 at University Hospital in San Antonio. She was born in La Rue, Texas, the sixth of eight children of Velma & Floyd Couch. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers Ivory & John Couch; sisters Clara Couch, Aline Harris, Elsie Little, Eloise Frank; & step-daughter Debbie Dixon Starkey.
She is survived by loving husband of 46 years Robert (Bob) Dixon; sister Cynthia Voight (Leonard); children: Mike (Rosalee) McClain; Angela (Gary) Crainer; granchildren: Melissa (Frank) Foster; Jerry (Dawn) McClain; Sunny (Gabe) Trinity, Josh (Ayvrie) Dixon; Adam (Sharon) Dixon; Jack Ploss; Jason Crainer; Kelsey (Randy) Mossong; &12 great-grandchildren and one on the way; numerous nieces and nephews.
Mollie was raised in East Texas on a farm, she graduated from Poynor High School at
the age of sixteen, and was on a state championship basketball team the same year. At the age of 34, she was widowed from Jerry McClain, having a 16 year old and 11 year old to care for. She was very determined to keep her home and family life intact. She married Robert (Bob) Dixon in 1970. After retiring in the 1980’s, Bob & Mollie traveled and club square danced. Their house in Texas City was the gathering place for holidays. They moved to Kerrville in 2000. She will be remembered for her laugh, kindness, good cooking and the stories she told of growing up on the farm.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at 10:00am at the funeral home with Rev. Jeremy Wester officiating with interment to follow at Galveston Memorial Park in Hitchcock, Texas.
Pallbearers are Jerry McClain, Josh and Adam Dixon, Randy Mossong, Frank Foster, IV and Eddie Mathison. Honorary pallbearer is Frank Foster, III.
