  6. Wonderful, caring friend. She loved to share her baked goods…peanut brittle, my favorite. She never met a stranger, wasn’t shy, and always smiled and enjoyed herself. It was my honor to be her friend. I’ll miss her.

  11. Somewhere I’ve heard about a saying of fruit not falling far from its bearing tree…I know not this lady but I do know of the character and honor of her fruit in the person of her son Robert Garza. He is my Medical Director at DeBakey Hospital and more importantly I consider him as my friend. I share in his sense of loss and pray that he and his family are granted peace of mind, heart and spirit during this trying time. I and my family extend our condolences in reciprocation to your support during the time of the loss my sister years ago. One hand washes the other. God Bless you and your family, my Friend. 20. Over the last several years I had the pleasure and joy of getting to know Minnie through her longtime friendship and Bunko fun with my mom, Joan Tindall. May she Rest In Peace and I pray that God brings your family comfort during this difficult time.
    Laurie Tindall

Minnie was a very giving and loving friend to me and many of our Bunko members. When I had cancer, Minnie was one of the friends who volunteered to drive me to some of my radiation appts. Minnie and Terri came to the hospital 2 years ago when I had hip replacement surgery and brought me a container of goodies which made my stay there more enjoyable. And prior to the COVID-19 time, Minnie and I had a standing once a month date to get our hair done together and share lunch at “the chicken place” as Minnie called it:-) (Kentucky Fried Chicken). Afterwards she would head home to watch Judge Judy! I’m so grateful for the friendship of over 20 years we shared.
God bless you and your family,
    Joan Tindall

  23. Oh my goodness, I just heard about Minnie’s passing. As so many others have expressed, she was a kind, loving, soul with a wonderful sense of humor. And the twinkle in her eyes was the best. She was a member of the League City Garden Club and that’s where I met her. Plus she was a regular at Hometown Heroes for their Seniors fitness program. We often met and chatted as we came for classes.
She will be missed by so many. Godspeed Minnie.

I was happy to meet her again at the LC Garden Club. She and I chatted on the phone and had lots in common. We had not talked recently so this really stuns me. 36. Minnie

Everyone dreams of having a friend like you,
Always joyful, kind and considerate in all that you do.
It was my privilege to know you as the school nurse,
And my joy to be surrounded by teddy bears of every kind.
It was a place where children sick or not could – always kindness find.
As time went by I learned of your love for Rob,
As a wife and partner with whom you felt blest.
As a mother my dear friend – you outshone all the rest.
Ever humble in all their accomplishments,
Yet, encouraging and prideful in knowing they had done their best.
You both raised two fine children who have chosen to help others.
You have thrived all these years,
With the gifts your children begot – your precious grandchildren.
I’ll always cherish those special times we shared,
Talking about our grandchildren and how very much we cared.
Your love of your grandchildren has carried you through all.
Your faith in God has prepared you for your Savior’s call.
It breaks my heart to say goodbye.
I’ll forever question and wonder why.
I can only surmise that God needs you more.
I’ll always be grateful that he gave me a loyal friend whom I adore.
I’ll forever carry the memory of your sweet smile,
And I am ever thankful that I knew you for a joy filled while.

  39. Minnie and I went to Nursing School many years ago and lost contact with one another; however, she came to my husband’s and I 50th Wedding Anniversary Celebration in San Antonio four years ago. It was such a pleasure to see her and several other classmates after such a long time! Unfortunately, that was the last time, but we did exchange Christmas cards after that visit.

Thank you so much, Robert, for letting me know, I really appreciate it. I will contact a few of other classmates that I can and tell the sad news of Minnie’s passing. May she rest in peace in the Lord’s arms.

  40. I was so sorry to hear of Minnies passing. She and I were classmates at St Mary’s School of Nursing. I remember her infectious laugh and the many crazy times we had with Paulette, Bobbie and the Judys. We were not in touch much in the past decade but when we were together the years faded and we were crazy nursing students again. I will miss her. RIP Minnie!

  43. I also graduated from Dickinson High with Minnie. She was always so sweet, I thought of her as a little Angel on earth. My daughter, Kathleen, and I would sit together with her at 4:30 Mass. She always had a hug instead of a handshake. I just learned of her passing from reading the Bulletin as we have been doing Virtual Mass. It was such a shock! Robert always had a twinkle in his eye handing out Communion! I pray they are together catching up. Yes, Minnie was so very proud of her children and grand babies! She and Robert did a wonderful job raising such a beautiful Family! Thoughts and Prayers for Robert, Jessica and precious grandchildren!
