Michael Ray Yancey
Michael Ray Yancey passed away on Jan 23, 2022 at the age of 67 in Galveston County, Texas. He was born May 16, 1954 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to John Wesley Yancey and Willa Dean (Hazelwood) Yancey.
Mike was the center of attention in any room, always ready with a trick and a story. His love of BBQ and hours spent around the smoker, filled many. He was preceded in death by his mother, Willa Dean Yancey.

Though I had very very few and limited interaction with Mike, every moment of that interaction was filled with joy and radiance all around. With his sense of humor and wit, he will make people smile and laugh irrespective of the circumstances.. His arrival on to the scene and his mere presence will fill the room with brilliance and enthusiasm. If one had to learn how to live life to the fullest, Mike was the answer.. May his soul rest in peace.

Rebecca, my prayers are with you and your family during this time. I am at a loss for words right now. He was such a kind and generous person and one I truly missed after my retirement. I have so many special memories of our daily visits at work discussing some work things, but also sharing stories of each other’s vacations and life events. May God give you comfort through the coming days.
Sending thoughts and prayers to your family. I had the pleasure of knowing Mike through work when he came to our MA facility. He was always so kind and we loved his southern accent! I am so sorry for your loss.
John, so sorry for your loss my friend.!!
To all the Yanceys, my deepest sympathy. Mike was always such fun to visit with on the porch in New Mexico.
He was always there to help whoever was in need. He used his training to help my oldest granddaughter with a badly sprained ankle while making her (and me) smile.
He was such a blessing to us all.
He will be sorely missed!
