Mary Susan “Sue” Emmite
Mary Susan “Sue” Emmite, 81, a resident of Dickinson, Texas passed away on February 28, 2025. She was born in El Campo, Texas on July 26, 1943 to parents, William Kenneth Ferguson and Nelda Evelyn (May) Ferguson.
Mary made a career as a nurse practitioner in the medical field. She was a member of Sigma Tau and in the Honor Society of Nursing.
She met and married the love of her life, Frank B. Emmite and together they raised one daughter and three sons.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband, Frank B. Emmite.
She leaves behind to treasure her memory, daughter, Dana Denise Watson and husband, David; sons, Michael D. Melancon, Kenneth J. Melancon and Frank S. Emmite and wife, Amanda; sister, Billie L. Raitano; brother, Tim Ferguson and grandchildren, Dylan Warner, Frank A. Emmite, Randy Richter, Michael Richter, James Barnum, Jessica Simmons, thirteen great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In her honor, there will be a visitation on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Crowder Funeral Home in Dickinson, Texas. A rosary will follow at 7:00pm. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at 10:30am at Shrine of the True Cross Catholic Church in Dickinson, Texas. Committal will follow at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, also in Dickinson, Texas.
My heart goes out to you all. She was very near and dear to my heart. May your hearts be comforted with the peace that passes understanding knowing she is with the Lord. Prayers and Hugs
Our thoughts are with all of you. Sue was a wonderful person. Susan Bethune and I lovingly referred to her as “Mom”. We attended nursing school together. Sue was a bit older and kindly took us under her wing. We will miss her and will always remember her kindness.
