Mary Eaton

Mary Eaton 85, of La Marque, TX gained her wings on February 17, 2025 at Mainland Hospital in Texas City.  She was born on August 12, 1939 Maud, Oklahoma, to Richard Hugh (JR) and Mildred Blankenship.

She graduated from Shawnee High School, Shawnee, Oklahoma. Mary was a house wife and mother.  She was a member of the Baptist Church.

Mary loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed the days that she would go shopping with the girls and baking for the holidays. She enjoyed working out in the yard gardening with her flowers and watching the humming birds. She loved to go to the tea rooms for lunch. She enjoyed camping at the lake, fishing, just really anything with the families going out to eat. She loved crafting, crocheting, and sewing. She was always making quilts. She enjoyed traveling with her husband. .She was always busy doing something, cleaning or cooking a meatloaf or something for the next day.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, brother Edward “Sonny” Blankenship, sisters; Rena Bender and Etta “Dutch” Davila.  She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Robert Eaton, daughters; Tonya Puentes (Johnny) and Sally Schooley (Danny), and son Howard Johnston (Barbara), step-daughter and step-sons; Tanya Eaton, Robert “Bobby” Eaton, Jr. (Marika) and Wade Eaton,  brother Bill Blankenship (Betty), numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and great-great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jon Dubler, Aaron Heilaman, Kris Schooley, Victor Lopez, Daniel Puentes, and Wade Eaton.

Honorary Pallbearers are Bob Eaton, Howard Johnston, Johnny Puentes, and Danny Schooley.

A visitation will be on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 from 11:00am – 12:00Noon. The funeral service will be 12:00Noon at the Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque with Rev. Dennis Johns. Interment will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster, Texas.

  2. Sending my condolences to the family. Mrs. Eaton was my neighbor for 10 years and when she would be working in her yard, she would always speak. Prayers are with the family.
