MARY ANN BOND

Mary Ann (Biela) Bond was born to John and Josephine Biela in Houston, Texas on January 26, 1952. She passed away peacefully, at home, surrounded by family on April 24, 2018. She graduated from Mount Carmel Catholic High School before completing her radiology training at St. Joseph Hospital. Her career as a radiologic technologist, beginning at St. Joseph Hospital and ending with the last 30 years at St. John Hospital, spanned many aspects of radiology. Mary Ann was very proud of her career and was well respected by her colleagues in the field.
Her courageous battle with cancer was a testament to her strong faith. While Mary Ann’s devotion to her family was her priority, she greatly valued her many close friendships. Mary Ann’s love of life, sense of humor, and positive attitude will be missed by all who knew her.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by husband David, children Patricia (Mark) and Nathan, step daughter Susan Bond, and grandchildren, Colin, Braeden, Aldon, Cayson, David Michael, Sebastian and Jazzmine. She is also survived by brother, Johnny Biela, sisters, Martha (Billy) Arfman, Susan(Dave) Froeschl, Theresa (Ken) Hammett, Dorothy (Brian) Stewart, one very special aunt, Bernice Wiatrek and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial will be held in her honor Saturday, May 5, from 1 pm to 5 pm, with the Rosary at 2 pm at Crowder Funeral Home, 1645 East Main Street, League City TX 77573.

  2. Mary Ann, oh Mary Ann,
My sister, my hero, my friend.
I watched your courageous fight to live
Come slowly and silently to an end.

I saw you being Christ-like, carrying your cross
As you battled cancer, suffering in pain.
No complaints, no self pity, just words of wisdom and joy,
You trust His Word, knowing heaven’s to gain.

Many family and friends surrounded your bed
With love, laughter and many prayers.
This gift of love to all who came,
Was very special and so unselfishly shared.

I’ll see you again, love, your sister, Martha

  3. While I never knew her, I know how much her son Nathan loved her. She must have been a strong and beautiful person as I can see the man she helped raise, her son. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family and loved ones. May God bless her wonderful, wonderful soul.

  4. Mary Ann was a “Bright” ray of sunshine to all she met. It was a privilege to work with her in the early 90’s. We would connect every few years and attempted to connect a few months back but it didn’t happen. I regret that. My condolences to Dave, Patricia, Nathan and all your children. You are all in my prayers.

  5. My sincerest condolences to David, Tricia, Nathan, and extended family. Throughout one’s life, you meet few truly special people. Mary Ann was definitely in that category. Her kindness and compassion were boundless. Her zest for life contagious, as well as her laugh and sense of humor. I will miss her very much. Till we meet again my friend…
