Martha Jane Stone (Slaymaker) passed away in Friendswood, Texas on Thursday, April 16, 2020 at the age of 83 after battling several painful ailments for many years.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 64 years, Elvis Stone Sr. of Friendswood; her son, Elvis Stone Jr. and wife, Sandy, of League City; her daughter, Traci Cooper and husband, Mark, of Houston; her brothers, Herman Slaymaker, OJ Slaymaker, and Bill Slaymaker; her grandchildren, Alison Petersen, Lesley Pineda, and Colin Cooper; and her great grandchildren, Landry and Ford Petersen.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Myrtle Slaymaker; her brother, Robert, and her sister, Elizabeth.

Martha was born on January 23, 1937, in Hurricane, West Virginia. She graduated from Brownwood High School in 1954, attended Brownwood College of Business, and married Elvis Stone in June of 1955. She was a Homemaker for the majority of her life with Elvis and their children.

Martha will be remembered by her faith in God, her lovingkindness, but mostly by her desire to always make others welcome. She was definitely “The Hostess with the Mostest”!

Martha will be cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held at Crowder Funeral Home , 1645 East Main Street, League City, Texas 77573 on Saturday, June 20, 2020, at 1:00pm.
