Mario Ramirez
Mario Ramirez passed away peacefully July 24, 2019 at Regent Care in League City. He is reunited with his dance partner Concepcion L. Ramirez, his wife of 48 yrs, who predeceased him in May 2018.
Mario was born & raised in San Antonio, TX along with his brother Rudy (deceased) & sisters Rachel & Sophie. After graduating Fox Tech High School in 1962 he enlisted in the Navy & served in the Vietnam War. During the Summer of Love in 1969 he married Concepcion Lozano & they started their family of 4 children. He is survived by Maria Ramirez-Adams, Marcus, Lucy & Mario Steven.
One of Mario’s proudest moments was graduating Southwest Texas State University in 1975. He was lucky in life to have a great career that he loved as an engineer & was a Logistical Supervising engineer for NASA working on the International Space Station for many years & finishing his career with Boeing.
He was a man with a full life & passions such as golf, scuba diving with Lunafins, traveling, fine wine, his crossword & sudoko puzzles & going to dances with Concepcion. His last years were quiet due to his illness with Parkinsons but his family & friends will always remember his wonderful laughter & great sense of humor.
A Memorial Ceremony will be held on Friday, August 2, 2019 at 10:00am at St. Mary Catholic Church, 1612 East Walker, League City, Texas 77573. In lieu of flowers you may send memorials to The Independent Village, 905 Highway 3, Texas City, TX 77591.

Rest in Peace my friend. You and Conception played such a big part of my family’s lives and we think of you with a fond laugh from time to time when reminiscing. Prayers to the family.
Mario, I first met you when I was supporting Tony Butina in the area of Safety and Mission Assurance (S & MA) for the Space Station Logistics Office. I went on several NASA program review trips with you and had a wonderful time and enjoyed your company and your great sense of humor plus lot’s of other stories. May God continue to bless your family through these days of grief and deep sadness.
Rest in Peace my friend!!
Condolences to the family.

Great friend and wonderful co-worker one could ask for. God Bless your family during these trying times. You will be missed by all whose lives were enriched by knowing you.
Dear Ramirez family, my condolences are with you. I knew Mario through Conception and Lucy. I am deeply sadden by Conception’s passing as well. Conception and Lucy use to attend my Exercise Class at NASA for many years. They were very special to me. I remember Mario use to invite all Conception’s classmates from Exercise Class to his work gatherings outside the NASA Gilruth center where we exercised. He would share with us his wonderful cooking. Those were fun times as I remember Mario and Conception being so joyous no matter the circumstances. My prayers are with you!
Thank you Cinda. My mother LOVED her excercise classes at NASA. She went until her body couldn’t handle it. She was tough. You did a great job because she stayed in shape!
Mario was one of the most joyful people I have had the pleasure to work with!
I wish healing and peace for the Family.
Mario was a good man who loved life and was kind to everyone. Mario helped a number of us to establish the International Space Station’s Logistics and Maintenance program to ensure ISS was maintainable. I liked Mario and he was a great help to me and the entire ISS L&M team. God bless you & keep you good friend.
I hired Mario away from the Airforce to be one of my key players when I opened the ISS Logistics & Maintainence Headquarters Office at JCS. He was an excellent Loggie and a great person. The ISS program was in a constant state of flux but Mario was able to adjust with that classic smile and chuckle of his. Always a team player he promoted unity with his casual sense of humor and great cook outs. My condolences to Mario, his family & friends, and his fellow workers at JSC. I regret that I will not be able to attend his memorial as I am recovering from my second Cochlear implant surgery. “Oh bye the way!”, Mario my long time friend ,you are missed greatly.
