Maria Geraldine Vadhera, of League City, passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 in Webster, Texas at the age of 56.  She was born on October 13, 1960 in Lanark, Scotland to John and Norah Anderson. Maria was a very loving and caring wife, mother and friend.  Her strong will helped her battle a challenging life with diabetes.   She had a light heart, loved her family and friends and was always a joy to be around.  Maria was preceded in death by her mother Norah.  She is survived by her husband Rakesh, father Jack, daughter Amy, sister Kay Byrne, brother Cree Anderson and wife Karen, sister-n-laws Reena Sharma and husband Rajiv, Jyoti Nayar and husband VJ and many other loving family and friends.  A Mass will be held on Friday, December 23, 2016 at 10am at St. Mary Catholic Church, 1612 East Walker, League City, Texas 77573 with Father Howard Drabek celebrating.  In lieu of flowers, you may send memorials to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), 26 Broadway, 14th floor, New York, NY 10004.  The family would like to offer their most heartfelt appreciation to everyone who offered their care and support and especially to those at UTMB to whom Maria lovingly referred to as her “Village”.
