Margaret Lampton
Our wife, mother and irreplaceable love, Margaret Bauer Lampton, left us on June 25, 2017.
Born on April 2, 1955 in Corpus Christi, Texas, Margaret attended Sophie Newcomb College at Tulane University in New Orleans and received an MBA from Del Mar College in Corpus Christi. A thoughtful and driven woman, she served 26 years as a Director in Information Security at University of Houston Clear Lake. She is a pioneer within the technology and software sectors, set apart by her pragmatism, leadership and dedication.
Margaret had an effervescent presence and a purity of spirit. To all she met, she’ll be remembered for her warmth, generosity and light heartedness. Margaret went above and beyond for her friends, family and children. She loved unconditionally and inspired those around her to be as compassionate, empathetic and caring as she. To paraphrase ‘It’s A Wonderful Life,’ she was the richest women we knew.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 33 years, Richard Lampton, two adoring children, Mark Lampton and Lauren Lampton, as well as a sister, Virginia Salmon, a brother, Charles Maxwell Bauer, brother-in-law, Larry Lampton, two nieces and two nephews. She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Margaret and Charles Baldwin Bauer.
A funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, June 29 at St. Bernadette’s Catholic Church, where Margaret’s family has practiced for over 30 years. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Marbridge Foundation in Menchaca, Texas.
So very sorry for your loss. I will keep your family in my prayers.
Don Carter I am sorry for her family that this day has come, but she is in heaven still smiling and looking down on her loved ones.
This is a beautiful picture of Margaret. All of you are in my prayers at this time of parting. She had such a kind spirit and especially, through the emails we shared, our friendship deepened. I could see much of her mother in her personality, and I’m so glad to have been a friend to her parents, her siblings and children.

Margaret was my dear friend and I counted her as a confidant. She was kind, generous and one of the smartest women you could ever know. She adored her two children and shared her joy and pride of their accomplishments. I am in DC and won’t be there to say goodbye but her family are in my prayers for their great loss. I am heartbroken to hear of her passing!
My thoughts and prayers are with the family. I have many fond memories of Margaret from my UHCL days. She could make me laugh like no other person.
