Margaret Elizabeth Donohoe (Beth)

Margaret Elizabeth Donohoe (Beth)

November 18, 1936 – January 17, 2025

Margaret Elizabeth Donohoe, affectionately known as Beth, was born on November 18, 1936, in New York City to Robert and Margaret Dunlop (both deceased).  She passed away surrounded by family and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Beth was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Donohoe.  She is survived by her daughter Roberta Dunlop and her husband Herman Moreaux; her cherished siblings, Roberta Dunlop, Millard Dunlop and his wife Melva, Robert Dunlop, and John Dunlop and his wife Rose.  Beth also leaves behind her adored grandchildren: Andrea Wendt, Cassandra Moreaux, Marissa Gomez and her husband David, and Preston Moreaux and his wife Kaylee.  Beth also leaves behind three great grandchildren: Gavin Wendt, Luke Wendt, and Jasmine Gomez.

Beth held a special place in her heart for her nieces and nephews, particularly for her first nephew, Millard Dunlop Jr., with whom she shared a unique and fiery bond.  Her love extended to all the younger kids in the family, as Beth could always relate to their youthful energy and love for a good time.

As the eldest of five children, Beth paved the way for her siblings, pushing boundaries with her love of adventure while somehow managing to avoid getting into trouble with her parents.  She spent her childhood in Schenectady, NY, and graduated from Draper High School.  Beth went on to have a fulfilling career as a leasing consultant for Liberty Personal Service, where she worked for 12 years and excelled at her profession.

Beth was a vibrant soul who loved to dance.  She especially loved “cutting a rug” with her brother Millard, and their shared love of dancing brought joy to both of them.  Beth also had a passion for needle point, spending countless hours creating beautiful pieces that reflected her creativity and love for others.

Beth had a kind heart, strong opinions, and a deep love for her family.  She will be remembered for her warmth and unwavering support for those she loved.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude for your prayers and support during this time of loss.  Beth’s memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.

A Funeral Mass will be on Friday, February 7, 2025 at 10:15am at St. Mary of the Expectation Catholic Church, 1612 East Walker, League City, Texas 77573. Viewing at 9:45am at the church. Reverend John Rooney Celebrant. Interment will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster, Texas.

  2. My family will always remember Beth, who we called Marge. The fact she went by many names reflects her fun, happy personality. She was a great friend to our deceased brother, Mike Heffernan, for the last decade of his life. We are grateful for her presence in his, as well as our lives.

Marge will always hold a special place in our hearts.

On behalf of our large family (Heffernans, Brashers, Louton, O’Briens, and Bollers) please accept our condolences for the loss of your, Beth.

  3. Aunt Beth was a wonderful aunt who always kept us in her thoughts. I will remember her for the fruitcakes she sent us through the mail at Christmas when we were kids growing up in the 80s, for her warm hospitality and delicious garlic-spiked marinated steaks when she invited me to stay at her house in Houston for as long as I liked when I was passing through on several occasions, and the conversations in person and on the telephone at family events up until recently, when she wanted to know how we and our children were doing. She wanted the very best for us and our family. She had her struggles in life, but I never heard any complaints from her unless it was about certain politicians, with which I usually wholeheartedly agreed. A very warm heart and a good conversationalist.

  4. I am a first cousin of Beth. We spent our childhood in the 50s,in upstate New York. We didn’t meet up again until the early 80s in Houston. She would drive all the way across Houston with Andrea to meet our family. There was a lot of catching up to do. We enjoyed their company. Last November she told me that she liked to go by Marge and not Beth now.
