Malcom Wayne Daly Jr

Malcom Wayne Daly Jr went to be with the Lord on December 30, 2024, at the age of 75 in League City, Texas.  He was born July 13, 1949, in El Dorado, Arkansas.  He spent his childhood and early adulthood In El Dorado where he met his high school sweetheart, and beautiful bride of 54 years, Suzanne Ruple Daly.  In 1982, they moved to League City, Texas to continue his career and raise their two boys.  He was a very proud father of his two sons, Brian and Adam Daly. He was an ever prouder “Pops” to his five grandchildren: Alex, Luke, and Matthew Daly and Hudson and Emerson Daly.  Malcom worked for Amoco/BP in Texas City for 34 years. Malcom loved baseball, golf, hunting and fishing.  He blessed many athletes in the League City area by coaching and sharing his love for baseball for over 30 years.  When he retired, he continued his passion for sports and the outdoors by working at Cabela’s.  He spent his retired days enjoying trips to the deer lease, golfing with the Bandits, serving on the League City Pony Colt board as President, and continuing to share his gift of coaching baseball with many athletes.

Malcom is survived by His wife Suzanne Daly, sons Brian Daly and Adam Daly and Daughter in-law Jenny Holcomb, Grandchildren Alex, Luke, Mathew, Hudson and Emerson, his sister Jo Ellen Pippin.  Malcom is preceded by his Father Malcom Wayne Daly Sr and Mother Yvonne Page Daly.

  3. Like Brad I also had the honor of coaching and running a Pony/Colt league for over 20 yrs with Malcom Daly. I can honestly say that he was one of the finest, honest, and morally correct man I’ve ever known. He was totally dedicated to the young men we were coaching to not only become high school baseball players but to become good men. I was proud to call him my friend and I will miss him terribly.

    • I had the pleasure of meeting Malcom and Suzanne and their two sons Brian and Adam through the League City Little League. My older brother and I coached a major League team through the early 1990s. The Cardinals, which Brian and Adam played on. Malcom was a great husband and father. Malcolm was always serving in his local church and always in some type of the youth organization in the League City community. A life time devotion to his family and commitment to the growth and goodwill of the youth community.

The last time I talked to Malcom he was at the Sportsplex throwing baseballs at one of his grandsons in the batting cage. Still coaching and mentoring. Malcom Daly was salt of the earth and will be missed by many.

  6. I first met Malcom when he and Adam came up to the deer lease we had out of Smily Texas to pick up some deer stands and feeders my sons and I had for sale.
My son Scott told me about how much he enjoyed working with Malcom and fishing and hunting with Malcom and Adam . When I met Malcom that day
and shook hands with him, and we made eyeball to eyeball contact, I knew I was meeting a good man. I will surely miss Malcom and his fellowship. I am sure when Malcom went through the gates of heaven he met Jesus with that firm hand shake. Myself and wife SaSan send our prayers and condolences to the family .
