Lisa Marie (Hill) Giangrosso

Lisa Marie (Hill) Giangrosso passed away on December 31, 2020 at the age of 57. She is now at peace with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Lisa was born March 9, 1963 in St. Louis, Missouri. She moved to San Antonio, Texas in 1967 with her parents and three older sisters. In 1987 she met Frank Giangrosso at a church retreat in Bastrop, Texas. They married in 1988 and moved to Houston. In 1989 Lisa gave birth to their first daughter, Lauren, and three years later, in 1993, their second daughter, Lindsay.

Lisa and Frank were married for 32+ years. They were true soul mates and best friends. They were the epitome of the phrase “opposites attract”. Lisa’s free spiritedness and Frank’s practical nature merged to create an unbreakable bond. Lisa was a driving force behind Frank, providing the support he needed to thrive in his career. Frank’s career allowed Lisa to raise their children.

As a stay-at-home mom, Lisa was very involved in her children’s lives. She was “room mom” for both daughters throughout elementary school. When the girls got older, she continued to be involved by consistently going to school lunches and pulling all-nighters to help them finish last minute school projects. Her girls always felt loved and she always made their well-being a priority.

Lisa was a joyous person who constantly made people laugh and whom people wanted to be around. She was the life of the party with enormous amounts of energy.

Lisa loved arts and crafts and was always in the process of making something. She was constantly working on projects in the garage or her craft room. Her inspiration was Mary Engelbreit who created art that was bright and whimsical. She would often find old furniture, to use as her canvases, in people’s trash. She really enjoyed converting trash to treasure. Lisa was the ultimate treasure hunter and would often make a night out of driving through neighborhoods looking for potential projects with her daughters. She made each excursion exciting and fun so that her daughters’ friends would beg to come “treasure hunting” with them.

Lisa also had a heart for animals and was consistently stopping to help hurting or lost animals on the side of the road. She helped rescue many birds, dogs, and cats over the years. Local rescue shelters knew her by name with how often she dropped off hurt animals.

Lisa traveled to many destinations with her family throughout her life. Before her illness, Frank, Lisa, and their two daughters would regularly do a big family vacation every year close to a beach such as San Diego, California and Destin, Florida. Lisa loved being close to the water. However, the family’s favorite destination by far was any vacation that related to Disney. Disneyland, Disney World and the Disney Cruises regularly saw the Giangrosso family. It was guaranteed that Lisa would wait as long as necessary to get a picture with her favorite character, Jack Sparrow. After Lisa was diagnosed with her illness in 2012, she travelled to many international destinations. She traveled to Ireland for her eldest daughter’s wedding, backpacked through Europe with Frank, and accompanied Frank on long business trips to Australia and Thailand. In the last couple years of her life, she got to take two more joyous Disney trips with her family.

Lisa attended Sagemont Church and gave her time teaching preschool in the years leading up to her illness. She had an enormous heart and shared her joyous love by teaching children.

Lisa had a giving soul and her loving nature has passed on through her daughters.

Lisa is preceded in death by her parents, Marilyn Susan and Albert Richard Hill.

Lisa leaves behind to cherish her memories, her husband, Frank Anthony Giangrosso Jr., daughters, Lauren Samantha Timperlake (James Preston) and Lindsay Amanda Giangrosso, and a grandson to arrive in 2021.

Lisa also leaves behind her strong support network which included her three surviving sisters, Linda Woodward (Wayne), Laurie McCord and Karen Chutek (Tony). She also received support from her mother-in-law, Nicole Giangrosso, brother-in-law, Michael Giangrosso, and sisters-in-law, Colette Riley and Chantal Daniels.

Please join us on March 6th at 10 am for Lisa Marie Giangrosso’s “Celebration of Life” Memorial at Sagemont Church (11300 S Sam Houston Pkwy E, Houston, TX 77089) in the Chapel, parking areas B & C.

  3. One of the things I will always think of when I think of my baby sister, Lisa, was her gentle spirit and her abundant energy. Lost animals were drawn to her. She loved her family and I am so grateful that I can include myself in that circle and she was loved dearly by us. She will always be in my heart and thoughts. Rest In Peace my sweet sister. You are so missed.

  4. When I met Lisa in 1995 our kids were just babies in pre school. We loved hanging out at the park allowing the children to play. From the first day I met her I was welcomed and treated like family. Lisa and I were always playing with the kids, Lindsey, Lauren, Gilbert and Olivia. In 1997 I moved back home to Corpus Christi and with our children and our busy lives we did not talk as much. Time passed too fast and I just knew we would have more time. I will always remember and hold close to my heart her carefree attitude, big smile and her crazy laugh. I was able to see Lisa one more time and it was as if I had never left. She was and will forever be a precious joy and dear friend in my life. God bless you guys.

  7. Frank, Lauren, Lindsay – what an absolutely beautiful remembrance of your wife and mom, my first cousin, Lisa. You have described her as I thought of her too. Hilarious, fun and always up for adventure. I have so many good memories of childhood holidays and many visits to San Antonio after the Hills left Missouri. She’s gone too soon.
My heart aches for you but know you find great strength in each other, your extended families and your faith. Know that my heart is heavy and I am thinking of you all.
    God bless you.
