Linda Travis Boyer
Linda Travis Boyer, 76, a resident of Houston, TX for 48 years, passed away August 20, 2022 in Houston, TX. She was born in Chattanooga, TN on September 17, 1945 then was raised in Florida. While in Florida, she worked many years at Cape Canaveral where she was involved in the Apollo program and helped design mission patches. Linda moved to Houston in 1971, where she met and married her husband and went on to have two kids. She continued to work for the space program for many years as a graphic artist before retiring in 1990. Upon retirement, her and her husband owned and operated a local newspaper for 13 years in the Clear Lake Area called the Bay Area Merchant.
Linda was an artist who loved to work with pastels. She also loved to read, loved Garth Brooks, working on her diamond paintings and was obsessed with her cats.
Linda is survived by her daughter, Kelly Tuffly; son-in-law, Thomas Tuffly, Jr.; and son, Christopher Boyer. She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Boyer; mother, Virginia Jones; father, Homer Jones and brother, Byron Jones. There are no events planned as she did not wish to have services. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the ASPCA in her name.
Linda actually grew up in Chattanooga, attending Eastdale Grammar, Brainerd Jr. High, and graduating from Central High School in 1963. Many of her classmates remember her as being a gifted artist. Godspeed, Linda!
