Lavina “Lea” Manuel McAninch, 84, of League City, passed away July 30, 2017, in Texas City. Lea was born August 27, 1932, to Angelas and Essie Reed Manuel in Mamou, LA.  She retired from the Galveston Daily News where she was Employee of the Year for her work in the advertising department.  Lea was past president of WMU for the First Baptist Church in Brenham.  Lea loved to dance and loved spending time with her family. Lea was preceded in death by her parents; husband Charles McAninich; son-in-law Joe Autrey; and brother-in-law Mac McCreary.

Lea is survived by her daughters Brenda Dvorak and husband Norman, Charlene Stone and husband Ronnie, and Theresa Autrey; sister Shelva McCreary; brother Kallen Manuel and wife Marie; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

A visitation in her honor will be held 9:00 – 11:00 am, Saturday, August 5, 2017 with funeral services following at 11:00 am, Crowder Funeral Home Chapel, Dickinson, Texas.
